Account and sign-in
How do I create an account?
Press Sign in at the top, then Create an account. We ask for your first name, last name and a permanent email address: disposable inboxes aren't accepted. You'll get a code to confirm the address. Until you confirm it, you can add games to your library, but not download them.
Can I sign in with Google?
Yes. On the sign-in or sign-up page choose Google: Google gives us your name, email (already confirmed) and picture, never your password. If you already have an IndexHub account with the same email, the two are linked instead of creating a second one. The privacy policy has the details.
How do I unlink Google or change my password?
On the Account page, under How you sign in, you can see whether you use a password, a passkey and Google. Change password (or Choose a password, if until now you only signed in with Google) emails you a link. Unlink Google appears once you also have a password or a passkey, so you're never locked out.
How do achievements and leaderboards work?
When you play from the launcher with your account signed in, games that support them record achievements and scores: you see them on the game's page, with the share of players who unlocked each one. Only players who choose a public name on the Account page appear on leaderboards; without one you still see your own place. Deleting your account removes achievements and scores too.
The confirmation code doesn't arrive
Check your spam folder and wait a few minutes. If it's not there, sign in again: signing in sends you a new code. The code works only once. If you open the link in the email after you've already confirmed, it will say the link isn't valid, but your address is already confirmed.
I forgot my password
On the sign-in page, after your email, choose Forgot password: we'll send you a link to pick a new one. You can also sign in with a passkey (your device's fingerprint, face or screen lock) and do without a password.
It says my account is paused
After ten wrong passwords in a row, the account stops for about 20 minutes, to protect it from anyone trying to guess the password. Then try again, or use Forgot password.
How do I delete my account?
On the Account page, at the bottom, choose Delete account. Your store data is gone right away, your sign-in within a few minutes. Before that, you can download a file with everything we know about you.
Games and downloads
Are the games free?
The first ones are, and they stay free for everyone who has them in their library. When paid games arrive, the price will be clearly shown before any purchase.
How do I download a game?
Add it to your library from its page. Downloads and updates go through the IndexHub launcher, a small program that installs games, checks every file and keeps them up to date. It's still being built: you'll find it on the Launcher page.
Which systems do the games run on?
Every game page lists the system requirements. For now the games are for Windows; Linux will come later.
Privacy
What do you know about me?
Only what's needed: account, library, consents. No advertising, no third-party tracking. Game usage data only if you turn it on yourself, from the Account page. All the details are in the privacy policy.
