Coming to the Microsoft Store

The IndexHub launcher

It installs the games in your library, keeps them up to date and checks every file before running them.

Create an account

The launcher is the program that sits on your computer and does the boring work for you: it installs the games in your library, keeps them up to date and starts them. It's still being built: this page explains what it will do and how we're building it.

What it does

  • One click to install the games in your library, and to start them.
  • Updates on its own, downloading only the files that changed, not the whole game.
  • Checks every file against a digital signature before using it: if something doesn't match, it doesn't install it.
  • Never leaves you halfway: the update is prepared next to the version you have, and the switch to the new one happens only when it's complete. If the power goes out halfway through, the previous version of the game still works.
  • Installed games start even without a connection.

Safe by design

Every version of a game is described by a signed list of all its files. The signing key isn't on any server: the launcher checks the signature with the keys it carries with it. So even someone who broke into our servers couldn't make you install a modified file. And it never accepts a version older than the one you already have.

When it's coming

First on Windows, through the Microsoft Store: Microsoft signs it, and it updates itself like the other Store apps. Then Linux. We'll let you know in the News when it's ready.

In the meantime, you can already create an account and add games to your library: you'll find them there, ready to install.
